If you were able to watch Titanic then you are definitely familiar with the Heart of the Ocean. Wearing only this, Jack made a portrait of Rose. Great movie isn’t it.

Heart of the Ocean was based on the real life diamond story– The Hope Diamond. What is so special about this. This Hope Diamond was unexpectedly very controversial. It is a deep blue diamond of 45.56 carat. This diamond was known to be cursed.

Hope diamond passed through different generations. It had climbed mountains and even crossed the oceans. It can be easily tracked to a blue diamond which is named Tarrvernier Blue. It was mined in the Kollur mine in India. From here a French merchant-traveler had purchased it. And the rest was history.

This had been a possession of the Hope Family. Now the diamond is in Smithsonian Natural History Museum.

It was said that the diamond was cursed. A story was told that a Tarvernier had stolen it from a Hindu idol. When the priest noticed that it was gone they placed a curse on whoever will be owning the diamond.
